0021 - Reproach - Is What It IS 7"

This was another impulse buy, but this time to test out Discogs, as at the time I was strangely dubious about using it to buy records from. Anyway, I'd read a lot about Reproach and saw this record going cheap, so bought it.

I really like the black and white, punk inspired cover.

Same with the back cover, with the songs listed and the prominent live photo.

Tracklisting -

Side A -
1. Over The Kill
2. Shove My Fucking Face In It
3. Skate and Destroy
4. Acid Rain
5. Overpelt Up In Flames

Side B -
6. Boiling Inside
7. Dead By Dawn
8. Switch It Off
9. Is What It Is

There's a simple, black and white folded insert inside, featuring a photo of the band on one side.....

The songs and credits on the back....

..... and when you open it up, there's a kick ass collage of black and white photo's which is a neat touch.

The record itself has been pressed on clear vinyl. Both sides feature chunk black centre stickers, one with the band logo on and the other with Deep Six's (the label) logo on.

Side A -

Side B -

The record also came with a download code.

I'm unable to locate any pressing details for this 7", so if anyone can help me out, please drop me a line at stayahead1@yahoo.co.uk.

Visit Deep Six records at http://www.deepsixrecords.com/ as I think they still have copies available, If not, you can pick up copies still on discogs.

0020 - Off With Their Heads/Discharge - Split 7"

I bought this split as an impulse buy from Drunken Sailor Records, purely because it featured two cult punks bands and so I could say, I owned a Discharge record really!

The artwork is pretty much exactly as you'd expect on the Discharge side of the sleeve.

Off With Their Head pay homage to Discharge with the artwork on their side of the sleeve, with it resembling the artwork for Never Again.

There's a double sided insert, featuring the lyrics to both contributions from the bands, as well credits etc.

Tracklisting:-
1. Never Run (Off With Their Heads)
2. Legacy You Left Behind (Discharge)

The copy I picked up was on black vinyl, with centre stickers featuring the band, their song and even the rpm of the record!

Side A - Discharge

Side B - Off With Their Heads

Now, I did read somewhere that the centre stickers had been placed on the wrong side, but I'm not sure if that was true or not.

The record was limited to 1000, with 200 on red and 8oo on black vinyl. There was also 50 test pressings and another 50 rejected tests.

Each record also comes with a download code.

You can still pick up copies of this directly. from Drunken Sailor Records at http://drunkensailorrecords.limitedrun.com/off-with-their-heads-discharge-7.

0018/19 - Hang The Bastard/Brotherhood Of The Lake - Split 7"

Before long, you'll realise that I'm a bit of a Hang The Bastard super-fan. Anyway, I got this releases as part of the TDON singles club last year. I'd heard of Hang The Bastard thanks to the promo that had been posted all over Facebook, but Brotherhood of The Lake were new to me.

Front Sleeve -

The artwork got me pretty excited for a start. The front of the sleeve was really uncomplicated but eye catching at the same time.

Back Sleeve -

The back of the sleeve featured both band's respective monikers, in their chosen fonts alongside the song's they'd contributed and the label's moniker.

Inside, there was an insert which housed the record itself, featuring the lyrics and credits,

Tracklist:-

Side A - Hang The Bastard
1. Offering
2. Cross Joint

Side B - Brotherhood of The Lake
3. It's Meant To Hurt
4. Hope For Nothing

The copy I originally got through the singles club was the White/Green version. Side A featured a centre sticker with the song titles on and Side B featured a scaled down version of the cover art.

Side A -

Side B -

This colour-way was limited to 200.

A while after, I ordered the HTB - Raw Sorcery double cassette direct from the band, which subsequently got lost in our mail system. Because of that, the band said they'd send me some other stuff, so I request a copy of the White/Blue version of this split.

This version was also limited to 200 copies.

There's also a Black version that was even rarer, limited to just 100 copies. From what I can tell, all versions have sold out, however keep checking Discogs and Dead Format as second hand/trade copies may come up from time to time.

0017 - A Textbook Tragedy/The Arusha Accord - Split 7"

This 7" was an impulse buy, although I can't really remember where I got it from. I was drawn to it because of the cover art, but also the reputations of both contributing bands.

Front sleeve:-

The record was put out by A Wolf At Your Door and the back of the sleeve prominently advertises that, alongside the song titles and credits.

Back Sleeve:-

Tracklist:-

Side A -
1. White Lightning (A Textbook Tragedy)
2. The Resurgent (The Arusha Accord)

Side B -
3. Lincoln City (A Textbook Tragedy)
4. The Tightrope (The Arusha Accord)

The vinyl itself is a kind of milky/clear colour with centre stickers, that feature more colourful examples of the cover art, along with the side's.

Side A -

Side B -

The split was limited to 500 copies, all of which have sold out from what I can see. You may be able to find copies on Dead Format or Discogs though.
